Campaign in poetry, govern in prose” – so said New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Comparing Obama’s extraordinary acceptance speech on election night to today’s effort (still impressive, but much less moving for me), it was interesting that where in November he spoke he sunlit uplands, hope and change; today he spoke of fierce storms, challenges and turbulent times ahead.
Is Obama already – and quite sensibly – making the transition from campaigning to governing?
